Michael J. Crouch, CHT-A, CPC, CPMA
Michael Crouch is the founder and CEO of C+ Consulting, which he established in 2017. A Certified Professional Coder and Medical Auditor, he brings more than 30 years of specialized experience in the wound care and hyperbaric medicine industry.
Over his career, Mr. Crouch has served as Vice President of Reimbursement for two national wound care management organizations, where for 13 years he supported more than 300 outpatient wound care departments with reimbursement strategy, revenue cycle oversight, and operational guidance. He also served as Corporate Hyperbaric Safety Officer for a network of over 250 hyperbaric technicians, providing competency training and 24/7 technical support for hyperbaric chamber operations and emergency response.
In addition, Mr. Crouch was a Program Director for two wound care and hyperbaric medicine programs (both multi‑ and monoplace centers( gaining deep expertise in clinical operations, policy and procedure development, compliance auditing, revenue cycle optimization, and staff education. Over the course of his career, he has trained thousands of physicians, nurses, and technologists through introductory wound care and hyperbaric medicine courses.
Mr. Crouch has contributed significantly to industry leadership and standards. He previously served on the American Association for Wound Care Management (AAWCM) subcommittee, was a surveyor for the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) Hyperbaric Facility Accreditation Program, chaired the UHMS Associates from 2003 to 2005, and was a member of the UHMS Practice Compliance Committee. He is also the author of numerous hyperbaric articles and two textbook chapters
Valerie T. Sanden, RCP
Valerie Sanden is an accomplished Healthcare Operations Leader with more than 35 years of experience advancing outpatient wound management programs across a wide range of hospital and healthcare environments. She is widely recognized for her expertise in strengthening clinical documentation, ensuring CMS compliance, and improving the financial integrity of wound care services through enhanced charge capture, coding accuracy, and reimbursement processes. Throughout her career, Ms. Sanden has held key leadership roles at several wound management organizations, guiding clinical teams toward cleaner documentation, stronger audit readiness, and operational excellence. Her work includes achieving 100% CMS compliance for HBOT programs, developing operational policies, managing P&L performance, and training providers and staff on documentation standards and coverage guidelines.
Her national‑level leadership experience spans more than 25 years, during which she oversaw large networks of wound centers and led the development of quality, compliance, and analytics programs that supported clinical, operational, and financial improvement across more than 170 clinics. Earlier in her career, Valerie was one of the first U.S. representatives to introduce advanced negative‑pressure wound therapy technology, helping drive early adoption and education throughout the wound‑care community. Across all roles, Ms. Sanden remains dedicated to helping wound management programs operate more efficiently, document more accurately, and achieve appropriate reimbursement, while ensuring exceptional clinical care for every patient.
